Contractor Sales Representative
Position Summary
The Contractor Sales Representative is responsible for driving commercial sales growth within NYC Metro area by developing and managing relationships with general contractors, waterproofing, roofing, and restoration contractors. The individual will also support and work closely with our local distribution partners. This role focuses on increasing market awareness, providing product expertise, supporting the bidding process, and identifying new business the opportunities while reinforcing proprietary specifications for company products.
Responsibilities
- Works with the existing contractor and distribution networks in promoting and developing the awareness level of Kemper System's product line in the specified market area
- Identifies and establishes relationships with new contractor accounts to grow market share
- Works with local distribution partners to present to contractors, owners and specifiers
- Collaborates with team on business plan to achieve the annual sales target established by Kemper
- Develops and prepares reports on competitor’s activity in local market
- Knowledge and understanding of sales and marketing principles and techniques, including utilizing CRM for pipeline management and project tracking
- Visit project sites and review conditions for application of materials
- Candidate must be able to speak in front of contractors, owners and specifiers
- Confident in formal presentation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally
Qualifications
- Persuasive, results-driven sales professional with a technical product focus and a strong sense of urgency to achieve goals
- Technical sales expertise, with the ability to articulate complex product benefits and installation requirements
- Independent, competitive, and self-motivated, balancing short-term sales targets with long-term business growth
- Excellent relationship builder and communicator, engaging effectively with contractors, architects, and the design community
- Strategic problem solver and planner, with the ability to navigate challenges, drive activity through others, and manage territory and product lines efficiently
- 5-10 years of sales experience in the building materials and, or architectural and design community, with a strong understanding of general construction processes, blueprints, and specifications
- Bachelors degree preferred
